DEA Arrests French Dream Vendor “OxyMonster”

According to DEA Special Agent Austin Love, probable cause existed to arrest a French citizen who has travelled to the United States to compete in a beard contest. The suspect, 38-year-old Gal Vallerius had landed at the Atlanta International Airport when law enforcement agents conducted a border search of Vallerius’s laptop. His laptop contained a private PGP key that belonged to a Dream Market and Traderoute Market vendor, Dream login credentials, and $500,000 in Bitcoin.

His interception in Atlanta was not a stroke of luck after the random search of an international traveler. The Drug Enforcement Administration had targeted Vallerius as early as January 2017, according to the criminal complaint filed on September 1 of this year. In Miami, Florida, the DEA targeted numerous Dream vendors. The criminal complaint named three vendors investigated in the operation: ReximusMaximus, DigitalPossi2014, and MethForDummies. After those three, the DEA agent wrote, focus shifted towards a vendor known as OxyMonster.

After an unusually brief investigation, the DEA connected OxyMonster to Gal Vallerius. The investigation began on the Dream Market homepage where Agents observed a link titled “forum.” Love described what happened after clicking the link, it “took them to a Tor website called Dream Market Forum.” Then, while browsing the Dream Market Forum, agents navigated to a topic called “Official Staff.” The post:

Anyone that’s claiming to Mod or Admin who ‘s not on this list – should be reported
Admin: Speedstepper
Senior Moderator: OxyMonster
Moderators: Quasimodo, FriedTheChicken
Ticket conductors: Xray, Spanishconnect ”
Senior Moderator @ Dream Market [Dream Market onion link]

Several months later, in June, they discovered that OxyMonster also sold “Schedule 11 controlled substances.” (Yes, they claimed that it had taken months to connect the forum profile to the vendor profile). On OxyMonster’s vendor profile, the vendor provided the Bitcoin address for “Dream Team Staff” (lDREAMv7kl6T8bMyE7ghe4nLQVSdBbPJAe). He also linked to his TradeRoute profile.

On his TradeRoute vendor profile, he wrote that he had moderated on the Evo marketplace and that he currently functioned as an admin on the Dream Market.

To make a long and ultimately painful story short, officers traced the Bitcoin payments made to the allegedly official “Dream Team Staff” tip jar. The money eventually connected to a LocalBitcoins account with the username “vallerius.” The DEA searched social media (and undoubtedly elsewhere) for matches against Vallerius. And from this point onwards, the case unfolds look so many recent cases where compartmentalization seemingly slipped the vendor’s mind. His Instagram account, Twitter account, several random social media accounts, the URL “vallerius.com,” all provided investigators with information needed to connect Gal Vallerius to the LocalBitcoins account that connected to the OxyMonster Dream account.

The criminal complaint described how investigators compared the writing styles of OxyMonster and Vallerius. “Agents discovered many similarities in the use of words and punctuation, including: the word ‘cheers,’ double exclamation marks, frequent use of quotation marks, and intermittent French posts.”

When arrested at the Atlanta International Airport, en route to a beard competition in Texas, he carried all the evidence needed to further connect him to the darknet vendor. He had his pgp keys, 99.98 Bitcoin and 121.98 Bitcoin Cash wallets, his Dream login, and a Tor installation. He did not contest his identity or detention in an Atlanta court and will soon be transferred to Miami to face a drug dealing conspiracy indictment.

  1. I thought that after Ross’s arrest people would learn to stop mixing your surface web identities with their deep web identity. I guess i was wrong.

  2. wow i bet the feds are goin 2 be lookin on the inside of dream now since i bet oxymonster had access 2 nearly everything.

speedstepper is the main guy and has been noticeably absent, i find that highly suspicious.

i wonder if the feds are tryin 2 find people sending clear text and tracking # on there and following vendor withdraws from the blockchain to see if they can find out who they are.

no wonder the site has been so shitty and the support has been absent.

there are only about 5 solid sellers on there.

everyone is getting there accounts hacked and i suspect the reason why all of the bitcoins reset was BC a stupid local cop that had taken a computer course or two at the community college and then was hired by the bureau and is not a true IT specialist or computer scientist.

its likely a FBI computer dip didnt kno how to properly switch a certain code and ended up screwing it up.

but all those assholes want us to be so scared of them and have the belief that they are all amazing geniuses since they work for the FBI.

it is nothing but bullshit propaganda that they try to portray that public image.

if i had unlimited resources and the best equipment money can buy and was able to catch sellers that had access to the site i would be able to catch a few dumb asses that get careless and lazy.

mark my words. in a few months we will all hear about them having been on the inside and investigating sellers and probably a few big time buyers if they are able to do some undercover buys and profile some other packages going to certain addresses with lots of drugs in them they will be targeted.

or if they can find out the identity and it is some famous person or it would ruin the person if they got caught ordering drugs (if they were in the medical field or worked at a government job that strictly prohibited any controlled substances)

you can bet they are going to decide to come after them.

look at what just happened with AB.

they did it with silk road but they wanted to show how they had won against ross since he was the 1st person to make a market they wanted to shut it down and look like that was over and would not happen again.

these sites are so common now that they have decided they cant stop them but they can catch some of the sellers.

to sum things up. i kno i rambled in this. but these assholes are just trying 2 make a name for themselves.

they are nothing but glorified cops with a extremely powerful public relations portrayal.

they want everyone to think they are super smart and are so incredible for being for the FBI.

let me break it to you. the actual really smart people work in the private sector. they dont work for the fbi.

  3. Poetic Justice Oxymonster has dam few drug sales to speak of, OxyMonster made his money Ripping off Dream Market buyers and vendor accounts.
Now he is in the USA and doesn’t know “WHO” he ripped off.
Lots more bad news heading his way.
WHY??? Did the DEA search his computer to begin with, that is very unusual.
There is something here that is not being said and I want to hear it

  4. I don’t understand, did he sell drugs in the USA? how can they arrest him? what crime has he commuted when landing in the USA?

    • He sold drugs over the internet, which were then shipped to the USA, not to mention that as an administrator of the Dream Market, he was helping others send drugs through the postal system to buyers.

    • He did help operate a drug marketplace where vendors could sell drugs. This service was used by US citizens to buy drugs therefore it is a crime in the US.

  5. why did he have no special password for disk errase on his laptop??

    • KkevlAr

Normaly is good to have encryptet hdd…and after it some errase…but if you connect your deep bitcoin wallet with your personal accs…??it doesnt matter

  6. The same story again and again……Cm on people…think twice…i just create page for personal security…because this year!so much arrests. …and the pgp ???realy???fingerprint ??it just your signature….and its on usb?or decryptet notebook?fck. …

  7. Honestly, these big time sellers seem to have a problem with security. Wouldn’t simply using tails have prevented anything tying back to him? And of course not crossing your DNM matters with personal matters

  8. And can we all agree the DeepDot Captcha are works of wonder?

  9. When I saw oxymonster, my heart almost jump off my chest , I thought it was oxymaster0, I pray the feds dont catch Oxymaster0, if that happens , lots of us will be fucked bad ,

  10. Lol what a retard to be caught. He fucked over many vendors from what I’ve read and they will try to find a way to get him most likely in jail.. Well you know the FBI/DEA isn’t that bright if that can’t even shut the site down like they did silk road the second they got it. All this shows is use PGP, encrypt your shit ALWAYS!, and once again ENCRYPT, also store passwords/keys/etc for DNM shit if you do it OFF your computer.. wow.. what a character this guy is.. I’m surprised he ran any of these sites with how stupid his lack of opsec is.

  11. The mention digitalposse2014 and methfordummies as names of other vendors they were investigating. Then, they say, they turned their attention to oxymonster.

Does that mean the others can breathe a sigh of relief?

It’s odd they they bothered to mention those other vendors like that. Seems like they have an ulterior motive there.
